Yesterday I got back from a good friend's wedding.
Friday:
My mom and I drove down to Saratoga. We stopped at our good friend's the Commandeurs. Peter and Denise. They are the people who call me {still:-)} Snowflake, hence the name of my blog. Their son Chris was getting married. Peter's sister, Deb, her husband, Jim, and their daughter came from New York to attend the wedding. They adopted their daughter, Justina, (a cool name) from Poland; so P and D (that's what we call Peter and Denise) call her Polska. So we were Snowflake and Polska. :-)
Anyway, we visited, took D to her "up do" hair appointment, and then checked into our motel to get ready for the wedding. Our motel was SO COOL!!! It had a little kitchen and everything was so nice. It was fun just to hang out and relax there.
THE WEDDING:
Was very nice. It started 45min late, but there was a lot of stress going on so it was okay. It started with this awesome guy named Danny who lead 4 worship songs and then the ceremony started. It was weird seeing Chris get married, he seems so young! 21 isn't bad I guess. I really liked the Pastor's message. One part was about how God took a bone out of Adam's side to make Eve. God didn't take it out of Adam's HEAD so that the woman wouldn't rule and be over the man. He didn't take it out of Adam's FOOT so that the man wouldn't walk all over the woman. And He didn't take it out of Adam's BACK so that the man wouldn't always be in front of the woman. God took the bone out of Adam's SIDE so that the man and woman would be side by side throughout life. I thought that was pretty cool.
Right after we went to the reception across the street. They had set up a big tent frame outside and strung it with lights. It was very cool. The food was good. My mom and I hung out with Deb, Jim, and Justina. We got back to our motel at 11pm.
Saturday:
We went over to P and D's for breakfast at 10:40 and stayed until 3:00. That cool guy Danny and his adorably cute 4-year-old son, Daniel, were there too. We all talked (except maybe me) :-), Danny led a couple of worship songs and we all sang; it was fun. What really hit me was that God was really evident in all of our conversations. It was really cool. After that, mom and I made a stop at Trader Joe's and headed home.
Well gtg.
~ all love, Jamie
