UMMM.....WHAT WAS THAT?1?3 nights before we left for our 3 day side trip my Dad and I went stargazing. We left the cabin at 9:40 and hiked up the trail for about 25 min. until we got to the perfect spot. We had to walk up this little cow trail off the main trail. We got to this spot that was AWEsome. It was really dim, so everything looked black or gray. We were in this big open gray plain that dropped off after awhile surrounded by black canyon and mountains. It was so.........quiet.We couldn't even hear the river we were so high up. (The trail is along and up off of the Little Big Horn River and it is loud.)It was, I don't want to say, erie, but it was beautiful in an erie way.I saw 10 shooting stars and a ton of satellites. We saw the Big Dipper and the Milky Way and WAY more stars than you would see in any city or town. We also saw some things that we have no clue what they were. 2 things were like satellites, but instead of a constant moving faint light, they moved and blinked (in no kind of pattern) REALLY brightly! They were weird. We also saw some military jets. Hmmm....It was really fun and cool.
OH THE DEEP DEEP LOVE OF JESUS!The second Sunday we were there at the cabin we had a little church service. It was really good!~My dad opened in prayer~Ross and I read Psalm 100~My mom, dad, and I sang "Oh the deep deep love of Jesus" (a good song)~My Uncle Steve gave a little sermon (he is a pastor. He was a wine maker and now he is a pastor. :-) Kind of funny.)~My Aunt Brenda closed in prayerUncle Steve's sermon was good, it was about the importance of reading God's Word. I liked what he said about Matt 5:13-16 ~ how we as Christians are Salt, and Salt preserves, heals, and irritates. We preserve this world, through God we are healing, and it's okay if we occasionally irritate non-believers. Because it's going to happen. It also convicted me to spend more time in God's Word, which I still haven't done much of. :-(
