Okay peoples! You need to comment on my vacation posts! Comment comment comment!
Anyway, this week has not been as busy as last week. Last week I babysat/watched Lydia Staeck ALL week except Sunday and Thursday. From 12-5 except on Saturday I babysat from 6pm to 9:30pm. It wasn't that bad except I basically non-stop played with her the whole time during the week. Then on Saturday I went to Katie Hemeon's b-day party and had a blast. It was fun. We slept on the trampoline and didn't actually sleep until like 4:30 in the morning. Can you imagine 7 girls on the tramp? It was cozy.
This week I am doing a MAJOR cleaning in my closet. I took EVERYTHING out and assembled some new shelves and stuff to put in. It's looking pretty good, but my room still has half of my closet contents strewn about.
What else is new? hummmm... I know! I decided (yes, to follow Jesus, but that was a while ago) to do the year around program with Turtle Bay. So starting mid-September I will be volunteering 3 hours twice a month hopefully on Fridays.

I got a cell phone!
ARE WE THERE YET?So, my uncle, aunt, cousin, mom, dad, and I went on a side trip for 3 days. We try to do this traditionally to see new places and spend more quality time together. In 2001 we went to Yellowstone National Park, in 2004 we went to Mt. Rushmore, and this year we went to Bozeman and Virginia City, Montana. ("Bozeman!" you say? Yes, we named our loverly dog after this city because we loved it so much. His middle name is even Montana! In fact, years ago we almost moved there. My Dad was offered a job at a hospital there, but our house never sold and some other things happened too.We still love it though.)
FIRST DAY:Bozeman is a charming old town with lots and lots of very fun shops. So, when we arrived (it's about 4 hours from our cabin) we parked and walked the streets looking at shops. They have an awesome toy shop! I remember Dale and I always going in there. After shopping 'til dropping, not really, we went to dinner. Then we drove by The Museum Of The Rockies (which we were planning on going to the next day) to find out where it was and check out the exterior. Well, they have this HUGE replica of a T-Rex in the front of the museum name Big Mike. So we took a bunch of pictures of it. :-)
Did I say it was a replica? I didn't mean that. It was alive! A stalking skeleton:
It almost ate Ross and I. We barely escaped by the skin of our teeth:

SECOND DAY:THE MUSEUMWe went to The Museum Of The Rockies. It is known for it's dinosaur exhibit. In fact, it's dinosaur exhibit and it's dino guy were the inspiration for the movies "Jurassic Park."First we did the 2 exhibits that were outside because it was going to get hot, and it did.~We started with the Lewis and Clark Challenge. You go around reading about their voyage, and doing things that they did, and seeing a lot of replicas of boats, teepees, their camp set-up, etc. At one point they had this circle of about 6 binocular/telescopes which when you looked through you saw the hills, plains, and mountains that they traveled through and over, etc. It was pretty cool. If you want to know more about it, just ask me. ;-)~The second outside exhibit was this old "living" house. It was this old 2 story house with a garden and a bunch of sod sheds etc.. which had people dressed in period clothing who "lived" and "worked" there. They had cows, chickens, and a couple of donkeys. There were about 5 men who were working in the huge garden, chopping wood, and working in the tool shed. There were 3 women who were cooking in the kitchen and later on they did crafts and weaving up stairs in one of the rooms. Upstairs they had a children's room with toys you could play with and clothes you could try on. I had Ross try on a bonnet. :-) The family that actually lived there had like 11 kids. It was really fun to explore the house and all of the rooms which were set up like people were living there. Like I said before, if you want to know more about it, just ask me. ;-)~After all of this fun it started to get hot so we ventured inside. These are the exhibits we went through: *Dino exhibit, [They had replicas of a ton of dinos. It is so cool and scary to see how BIG dinos were.]*an exhibit on Native American Indians,*an exhibit on the time period of early Bozeman (Lewis and Clark's time period), [They had fun hands-on-history things like a water pump that you could pump, duh, and water would come out. And a western horse saddle that you could get on; at this point Ross and I were starting to get a bit tired and board so we had lots of fun riding on the saddle. :-)]*an exhibit on Outer Space, [This was fun, everything was hands on. Most of it was finding certain things, stars and planets, on computer screens. It was very much to reach out to the kids.]Again, like I said before, if you want to know more about it, just ask me. ;-) [A.K.A. I have no time or desire to type out every detail.] IT WAS AN AWESOME MUSEUM!

They were all set up like they would have been, with goods etc. and some had mannequin people in them. All the shops were so fun! Most of the shops that you could buy stuff in were owned by people because the shops had all kinds of stuff that the owner had made. It even had an old Opera House that people actually still performed plays and stuff in. I wanted to see a play that was showing so badly, but it was too late in the day. The highlight was buying and eating homemade ice cream. Yummy, yum!!! It was so good. My flavors were chocolate and cowboy coffee. Delicious! I hope I am not making your mouth water! :-)

UMMM.....WHAT WAS THAT?1?3 nights before we left for our 3 day side trip my Dad and I went stargazing. We left the cabin at 9:40 and hiked up the trail for about 25 min. until we got to the perfect spot. We had to walk up this little cow trail off the main trail. We got to this spot that was AWEsome. It was really dim, so everything looked black or gray. We were in this big open gray plain that dropped off after awhile surrounded by black canyon and mountains. It was so.........quiet.We couldn't even hear the river we were so high up. (The trail is along and up off of the Little Big Horn River and it is loud.)It was, I don't want to say, erie, but it was beautiful in an erie way.I saw 10 shooting stars and a ton of satellites. We saw the Big Dipper and the Milky Way and WAY more stars than you would see in any city or town. We also saw some things that we have no clue what they were. 2 things were like satellites, but instead of a constant moving faint light, they moved and blinked (in no kind of pattern) REALLY brightly! They were weird. We also saw some military jets. Hmmm....It was really fun and cool.
OH THE DEEP DEEP LOVE OF JESUS!The second Sunday we were there at the cabin we had a little church service. It was really good!~My dad opened in prayer~Ross and I read Psalm 100~My mom, dad, and I sang "Oh the deep deep love of Jesus" (a good song)~My Uncle Steve gave a little sermon (he is a pastor. He was a wine maker and now he is a pastor. :-) Kind of funny.)~My Aunt Brenda closed in prayerUncle Steve's sermon was good, it was about the importance of reading God's Word. I liked what he said about Matt 5:13-16 ~ how we as Christians are Salt, and Salt preserves, heals, and irritates. We preserve this world, through God we are healing, and it's okay if we occasionally irritate non-believers. Because it's going to happen. It also convicted me to spend more time in God's Word, which I still haven't done much of. :-(

*CHICKENS WITH CHOPPERS: This post is really about cows. No, there were no cows with guns! 3 days almost in -a -row groups of cattle came down the trail above us and went straight to the cabin above us. (The fence WAY up the trail had a hole in it or something.) They would eat the "lawn" (clover and weeds that they watered 24-7), and attack their salt lick, and leave big steaming piles of cow pie. Okay, not steaming, that's gross! So, because the people who owned the cabin that the cows enjoyed where not there, Ross, Mom, Aunt Brenda, and I would "herd" them out of the yard and down the trail. (They would not go back up the
trail.) Combining the days, there were about 40 or more cattle in all!
Too bad for those ranchers.
One of the times, Ross and I were herding 1/2 of a group because the other half tried to get away up a hill - dumb cows! Well one of our cows was a mama whose baby stupidly was with the other half of the group. She kept giving us the slip trying to get back to her baby and mooing forlornly. While this is all happening, there is a group of teen boys who had come back from backpacking I guess and most of them were standing around their cars parked to the side. (At this point I feel really stupid; I'm sure Ross and I look real professional especially him with his flip-flops.) But there was one SUV that was going down the road followed by 3 boys. These 3 boys were watching us and teasing the cow (or us! I don't know) by laughing and mooing like her. Well, Ross and I finally got her back on the trail and she was going toward them and they were like, "Oh shoot!!!!" And Ross and I said to ourselves, "Ha Ha!
That's what you deserve!" Unfortunately there was no massacre or any thing. JK! We ultimately let the mama give us the slip because we knew that we would get her in the 2nd half of the group!!! Wah ha ha ha!!!
*……………SNAKES! :
(You have to be a ReliantK fan to understand. Katie H!) Here is my rattle snake story:
It's a nice afternoon and the men are back from fishing all day. We are all sitting in chairs in a circle on the lawn. My Uncle Steve notices a harmless water snake (except to birds) on our bird feeder which is attached to a tree surrounded by 3 or less feet of bushes. So, my uncle gets up, grabs a hoe, and tries to pick up the snake off the feeder.
(This whole time I am filming this on our new cool little video camera.) Well, my uncle is proving a difficult time so my mom says, "Oh, just have Jamie go and pick it up with her hands" (I was wearing shoes, my uncle was not.)(I like and don't mind water snakes.) Therefore, I turn the camera off and walk over to pick up the snake, but before I get there the snake falls off the feeder into the bushes. My uncle starts beating at the water snake to kill it (You must understand that we are killing all water snakes because we are protecting the baby wren birds) and finds that there it a larger and darker snake at the base of the tree!
Yes, it was a rattlesnake! :-0 Consequently, my uncle starts hacking furiously at the rattler and kills it. Phew! I was disappointed that I did not get it on film, and than I realized that I was just about to walk into those bushes right onto that rattlesnake! I rejoiced that the water snake (which got away) dropped off the feeder and that I did NOT walk into those bushes. Thank God! Even though I regarded my situation seriously, the whole thing was really funny and my cousin Ross and I laughed the whole thing off.
After that there was a plethora of water snakes. We killed 2 or 3 water snakes 5 or 6 days in a row. The funny thing was that the Wren bird parents would chirp agitatedly and warn us where they were! Like, if there were a snake by a rock, the wren would be ON the rock chirping at it. J We had teams: The Lady Snake Slayers = my mom and aunt spotting the snake, myself grabbing and holding it and my Nana killing it with a hoe.
The Snakenators = Ross grabbing the snake and my Uncle Steve killing it (or my dad). And the Younglings = Ross grabbing the snake and myself killing it. And then my mom decided to do something drastic and put foil around the tree that the wren birdhouse was on so that the snakes couldn't get up. We don't actually know if it worked.
*Whizzing, Whirring:
There have always been a TON of hummingbirds when we go to our cabin so there is no surprise when there are 15 hummingbirds at their feeder at a time. There is just wonder and amazement. One day when Ross and I were board we put our index fingers on the red perchy things and waited. They whirred around like crazy and didn't care how close we were. (One of those little birds can give off a lot of air! They feel like big fans.) Then they actually perched on our fingers and drank their nectar! It was SO cool! They are so light and you can barley feel their little talents, it just lightly tickles. It was really awesome.

I had fun just hanging out and reading or being crafty. (Like making jewelry and stuff, not doing bad things!)J I did paint over the newly chalked window frames.
I also hung out with my cousin Ross who is 12. He is cool. Last year it took the whole time to warm up to him because we hadn't seen each other for 3 years. But this year we hit it off right away and joked around and had fun. His family, my Uncle Steve and Aunt Brenda, flew in from Virginia.
I didn't fish this year. The weather was not as nicely cool as last year. Last year it was in the 70s during the day and in the 50s at night. We would get an occasional 80 and 90 day. This year, every day was in the 90s………and we have no AC. L It would cool down at night though. J The last 2 days we were there it got really cold and rained almost all day. We even made a fire in the fireplace. What a change! I saw a bunch of deer. Big whoop! One day a cow boy was coming up the trail and told us that he saw a big bull moose at the Fish And Game cabin down from ours. My parents and I drove right by there on our way to town and didn't even see it! Grrrr! Ugh! That would have been cool!

Yesterday
So, yesterday...Thursday...I worked at turtle bay and then from 4:00-8:30 I went to market fest and worked at a children's booth for turtle bay. The theme was archeology. There were 3 other teen/volunteers and 2 adult supervisors. It was so much fun! At the beginning I was slightly people watching and I saw all of these teens that were dressed all punk you know and I was like, "I wonder were Drew is, he would fit in perfectly." A couple of hours later I was with this other girl, Riana, getting something to eat and I saw Drew!!! I was like, "DREW!"and he turned to look at me. I said,"I saw you in the paper, did you see yourself?" And he nodded yes. I though that was so funny that I saw him and I was just thinking about him. Of course half the reason I even noticed him was because of his mohawk! lol
It is fun to people watch. :-)

NICE MOHAWK DREW
Did anyone else see Drew Fink (Lynda's cousin) on the front page of today's Record Searchlight? He had an awesome red mohawk. (I think it was red) :-)
Well, the highlights of my week have been:
~Talking with God in a way that I haven't in awhile
~Swimming in Anna's pool twice in two days (cannonball!!!)
~Throwing Conner into the pool after he dried off and running inside with his towel, he he :-)
~Seeing CJ jump into the pool fully clothed
~Spilling nailpolish remover on my bedroom carpet
~Pulling weeds in the front yard
~Teaching myself how to say, "Of course I will do it, father" in Spanish, "Por supuesto lo hare, Papa" [ironically I learned it right before my father said that I would be nice company for him pulling weeds in the front yard. So I was able to say what I learned right away! :-)]
~Accidentally turning the showerhead on when I was washing my feet in the tub. Let's just say more of me than my feet got wet
~Being board
Elephants never forget
Oh! I forgot, At the wedding reception we met Michael Toy, one of the four founders of Netscape! He worked at a ranch/camp with P and D and knew Chris when he was a little boy. Mr. Toy and his wife have an 8 or 9-year-old boy who has really blond, long, curly hair! :-)
all love, Jamie

I do!
Yesterday I got back from a good friend's wedding.
Friday:
My mom and I drove down to Saratoga. We stopped at our good friend's the Commandeurs. Peter and Denise. They are the people who call me {still:-)} Snowflake, hence the name of my blog. Their son Chris was getting married. Peter's sister, Deb, her husband, Jim, and their daughter came from New York to attend the wedding. They adopted their daughter, Justina, (a cool name) from Poland; so P and D (that's what we call Peter and Denise) call her Polska. So we were Snowflake and Polska. :-)
Anyway, we visited, took D to her "up do" hair appointment, and then checked into our motel to get ready for the wedding. Our motel was SO COOL!!! It had a little kitchen and everything was so nice. It was fun just to hang out and relax there.
THE WEDDING:
Was very nice. It started 45min late, but there was a lot of stress going on so it was okay. It started with this awesome guy named Danny who lead 4 worship songs and then the ceremony started. It was weird seeing Chris get married, he seems so young! 21 isn't bad I guess. I really liked the Pastor's message. One part was about how God took a bone out of Adam's side to make Eve. God didn't take it out of Adam's HEAD so that the woman wouldn't rule and be over the man. He didn't take it out of Adam's FOOT so that the man wouldn't walk all over the woman. And He didn't take it out of Adam's BACK so that the man wouldn't always be in front of the woman. God took the bone out of Adam's SIDE so that the man and woman would be side by side throughout life. I thought that was pretty cool.
Right after we went to the reception across the street. They had set up a big tent frame outside and strung it with lights. It was very cool. The food was good. My mom and I hung out with Deb, Jim, and Justina. We got back to our motel at 11pm.
Saturday:
We went over to P and D's for breakfast at 10:40 and stayed until 3:00. That cool guy Danny and his adorably cute 4-year-old son, Daniel, were there too. We all talked (except maybe me) :-), Danny led a couple of worship songs and we all sang; it was fun. What really hit me was that God was really evident in all of our conversations. It was really cool. After that, mom and I made a stop at Trader Joe's and headed home.
Well gtg.

SHORT AND SWEET
Hello, hello all. I am going to break my vacation tellings into categories. That way it will be easier for me to tell about my vacation. :-) all love, Jamie
*CAR TRIP:
The car trip up and down was very uneventful, half boring, and toward the end of each day - very uncomfortable! (Besides all of the things we COULD HAVE taken pictures of, BUT WERE TRAVELING TOO FAST TO GET THE CAMERA OUT AND TAKE ONE.) Oh well! The highlights of the car trips were 1) we saw a wiener mobile! They were having this contest where you could win a day riding around in it. Now that would be a fun youth group activity! Some may think that's corny, but I think it's cool.
And 2) on the way home we were driving through Idaho and passed this tree FULL of shoes. So we turned around and stopped to look at it. The tree was literally COVERED in shoes! It was so weird and cool!
I have really cool pictures, but Caitlin and I have not figured out how to post them through my computer. :-( So, Next week I am going to her house and we will post them there. Hip Hip Hurray!!

patience is a virtue
Hi all! Thanx for being patient. Though I really don't know if you're actually being patient or not, but no one has commented about me not posting about my vacation.
Well, I am having Caitlin over tomorrow so that she can help me post pics along with my tellings because I am too lazy to figure it out on my own.
Today I played mini golf at Oasis Fun Center with Rachel, Hannah, and their Aunt Michelle. Big surprise that I lost! I prefer volleyball.
Anna is home!!! We talked on the phone. I am glad she is home. Her pool is full, but no one can swim in it until Thursday.
All Love, Jamie
P.S. Take my quote quiz!!!! Unless you want Rachel to win.
